Two ranked teams are catching outmatched opponents this weekend, and both lines look like they were set for a closer game than either is likely to be. Georgia hosts Arkansas at noon, and USC welcomes Rutgers to the Coliseum that afternoon. Here's the breakdown on both.

A Razorback Team Still Reeling
Arkansas just got embarrassed by Utah, and Georgia is a lot better than Utah. That's the play. The Razorbacks lost 43-10 in Salt Lake City in a game their own beat writers called inexcusable. Quarterback KJ Jackson went 14-of-34 for 139 yards with a pick before getting benched in the fourth quarter, and the defense got run through for 43. First-year coach Ryan Silverfield's team is 1-1, with the win coming over an FCS opponent, and the one FBS game they've played says the defense is among the worst in the country: bottom-10 nationally in success rate allowed (127th), dead last-tier against the run (133rd), and 131st in value given up per pass.
Georgia's Offense Has No Bad Matchups Here
Georgia's offense gets to pick the weakness, and every one of them is a weakness. Georgia, meanwhile, looks like the Georgia that ran up 70 on Western Kentucky last week. QB Gunner Stockton tied a school record with five touchdown passes to five different receivers on 13-of-16 throwing. Through two games this offense ranks 16th nationally in success rate and 13th throwing the ball, and the defense is top-20 on a per-play basis. Kirby Smart has kept the pedal down twice in a row now, 63-3 and 70-20, and the two-deep behind the starters is five-stars, so the scoring doesn't stop when the first unit sits.
Best Bet
Georgia is the play. The matchup tables are lopsided everywhere that matters, and Arkansas's defense just got exposed by a lesser offense. Kirby Smart's team scored 133 points in two games and shows no signs of easing up.

The Popular Dog Isn't the Right Play
Rutgers is going to be the darling dog this week, and the number has already dropped two points since it opened. That makes sense on the surface: USC has real defensive issues, and Rutgers has a first-round receiver. Here's why laying it still makes sense. The Scarlet Knights' defense can't stop anybody. Through two games it ranks near the bottom of the country in almost every category that matters, including most yards allowed per pass attempt in the nation (134th), most per rush (136th), most available yards given up (136th), and dead last on early downs. They lost 37-21 at home to UMass, then lost at Boston College, and neither of those offenses is in the same universe as this one.
USC's Offense Is Humming
Jayden Maiava has been surgical: 48-of-54 for 626 yards and five touchdowns with no picks against FBS competition, running the third-most efficient passing attack in the country and the second-best at eating up available yards. Trent Mosley (213 yards, three scores) and Kayden Dixon-Wyatt are winning every matchup, and USC converts third and fourth downs at a 57% clip, fourth-best nationally. That's going against a defense that lets opponents convert half their third downs and can't get off the field on first and second. USC hung 49 on Louisiana, and Louisiana's defense is better than this one.

USC is the play. Rutgers' quarterbacks have thrown eight interceptions in two games and can't run the ball, a fatal combination against a Big Ten opponent that converts nearly 60% of its third and fourth downs.
