Barcelona Back in Form, but the Defense Is Still a Problem
Barcelona head into Tuesday on the back of a 6:1 thrashing of Alaves, a strong response after back-to-back defeats against PSG and Real Madrid. They’re the better side and should take all three points, especially after Aston Villa’s poor showing against Fulham last weekend. A Barcelona clean sheet is a different question, though. The Catalans have kept just one in their last ten matches across all competitions, and that came against a weak Getafe side. Seven of their last eight wins have come with the opponent finding the net.

Injuries Have Gutted Barcelona’s Back Line
The injury list makes the defensive concerns worse. Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen, Jules Koundé and Xavi Espart are all unavailable, leaving Hansi Flick no choice but to use Frenkie de Jong at center-back. That’s far from ideal against a Villa side that’s dangerous in transition. Nicolas Jackson and company should get chances to run in behind Barcelona’s high line, and they only need one.
Villa Can’t Keep Barcelona Quiet Either
Villa haven’t been convincing at the back themselves. Even if they sit deeper and play more conservatively, they don’t have the personnel or the defensive organization to contain an attack this potent. If Fulham gave them problems last weekend, Barcelona at Camp Nou should be a far bigger test.
Barcelona vs Aston Villa Best Bet
Barcelona should control this match and get the win, but a makeshift defense with a midfielder at center-back gives Villa enough openings to get on the scoresheet. Combining the home win with both teams to score turns a short favorite into a plus-money price.

What Needs to Happen to Win This Bet
This is a combination bet, so both parts must land. Barcelona have to win the match in regulation, and both teams have to score at least one goal. Results like 2:1, 3:1, 3:2 or 4:2 cash the ticket. A Barcelona win without Villa scoring (1:0, 2:0, 3:0) loses, as does any draw, including a 1:1 or 2:2, and any Villa win.
